Lisa Riley makes Crewe Lyceum’s Jack And The Beanstalk a strictly must-see

She entertained millions during her ten weeks in Strictly Come Dancing with her dance partner Robin Windsor, and today Crewe Lyceum Theatre announced that Lisa Riley is to lead the cast in this year’s magical family pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.

Lisa became a household name in the role of Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, a part she played for over seven years, winning numerous awards including ‘Most Popular Newcomer’, ‘Funniest Person in Soap’ and ‘Most Popular Young Achiever’. She has also starred in Fat Friends, You’ve Been Framed and has appeared in countless other television programmes including The Bill, Waterloo Road, Doctors and Holy City.

Lisa’s stage roles have been as successful and varied as those she has played on television. She has starred in productions of Calendar Girls, The Rise & Fall of Little Voice, Waiting for Gateaux, The Play What I Wrote and The Naked Truth, to name but a few.

After wowing the Nation as a competitor on Strictly Come Dancing, Lisa then toured with the Strictly Come Dancing Arena Tour after which she starred in her very own story specially written by Craig Revel Horwood titled Strictly Confidential. Lisa has just completed touring the UK in the 2014 Strictly Arena Tour.

Lisa takes on the role of The Fairy in Jack and the Beanstalk, which is staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, who produced last year’s Peter Pan at Crewe Lyceum, which achieved record sales for the Theatre.

Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk said; “I’m absolutely delighted that Lisa has agreed to lead our Crewe pantomime. Lisa is a sensational actress and brings a wonderfully warm humour to the stage, which I know that our audiences in Crewe are going to absolutely love.”

Gordon Millar, Crewe Lyceum Theatre Director said: “We are thrilled that Lisa will be spreading panto joy and magic at the Lyceum this year.  She is a charming actress and will no doubt make Jack and the Beanstalk the perfect festive treat for families throughout Staffordshire and Cheshire this Christmas.

Further castings announcements are expected from the Theatre over coming weeks.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Saturday 13 December 2013 to Sunday 4 January 2015. Tickets can be booked online at crewelyceum.co.uk

Brendan Sheerin boards the star line-up in Cheshire’s Biggest Pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk

Star of Channel 4’s popular TV show Coach Trip Brendan Sheerin has been announced as ‘King Brendan’ in Jack and the Beanstalk, Crewe Lyceum’s 2014/15 pantomime. This latest casting news follows the Theatre’s recent announcement that Lisa Riley of Strictly Come Dancing and Emmerdale fame will lead the cast as ‘The Fairy’.

Veteran travel expert Brendan Sheerin became a household name through Channel 4's runaway hit reality programme Coach Trip, having started his travel career in Costa Brava in the late 70s. Coach Trip and Celebrity Coach Trip catapulted Brendan to fame, with more than 300 episodes having aired since the series started in 2005. Brendan’s other TV credits include Brendan's Magical Mystery Tour and Brendan's Love Cruise. Brendan has written about his travel adventures in his autobiography titled My Life: A Coach Trip Adventure.

Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk said “Brendan brings his big personality and infectious humour to the stage. We’re delighted that he has agreed to be part of our spectacular Crewe production this year. With such strong cast already in place this year’s Crewe Lyceum pantomime is going to be a real treat for all the family.”

Jack and the Beanstalk is staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, who staged last year’s hit pantomime Peter Pan starring Adam Woodyatt.

Gordon Millar, Theatre Director of the Lyceum said “We are thrilled to welcome Brendan Sheerin to the Lyceum. Brendan’s bubbly charm and playful wit together with Lisa’s wonderful warm Northern humour will certainly provide laughter in abundance, making Jack and the Beanstalk the perfect festive treat for all the family.”
