It’s Chico time! Crewe Lyceum have announced that The X Factor star Chico will be joining comedy legends Cannon and Ball to star in Crewe Lyceum’s magic-filled pantomime Peter Pan.
Starring as ‘Big Chief Chico’, leader of The Neverlanders, Chico became a household name as a finalist on the hit ITV show The X Factor. Not content with knocking Madonna off the top of the UK chart with his hit Chico Time he swapped singing for skating and captivated the nation with his spectacular routines and reached the final of ITV1’s Dancing on Ice. Since then he has appeared on numerous television shows and in several pantomimes, winning rave reviews for his performances. He also produced his own UK tour with The Russian All Stars and toured with the legendary Osmonds in Boogie Nights. They will also be joined by Crewe’s best-loved Dame, Malcolm Lord as Mrs Smee, returning for his fourth year at the Lyceum, reuniting him with his good friends Tommy and Bobby. With nearly 40 years’ experience in all aspects of theatre and television, Malcolm is best-known through appearing for 13 years in the classic children’s programme Rainbow for ITV, initially playing George, the pink hippo, and then taking on the role of Bungle Bear. Peter Pan at Crewe Lyceum marks Malcolm’s 29th consecutive year in pantomime. Adam Knight, Theatre Director of the Lyceum said “We are thrilled to welcome Chico to the Lyceum for Cheshire’s favourite family pantomime, and very glad to be welcoming back Malcolm for a fourth year. Their energy and enthusiasm, alongside Tommy and Bobby’s inimitable comedy will make this year’s pantomime fly higher than ever before.” Tickets for Peter Pan are selling fast; audiences are encouraged to hook their seats today!
