FOR THE 2019 PANTOMIME SPECTACULAR, SLEEPING BEAUTY

The Regent Theatre has announced that returning favourites Jonny Wilkes and Christian Patterson will team up to star in this year’s spectacular family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, opening Friday 13 December – Sunday 5 January 2020.

Jonny Wilkes will star as the hilarious Jester while Christian Patterson will play The Nurse, bringing with them the laugh-out-loud comedy Stoke audiences have come to expect from the region’s favourite funny men.
No stranger to the stage, Jonny has enjoyed a varied stage career including lead roles in Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls and Grease, and held hosting duties on You’ve Been Framed and Love on a Saturday Night on television.
Jonny Wilkes said: “I can’t wait to return to my hometown for the Regent Theatre’s 2019 panto, Sleeping Beauty! Myself and Christian are so excited to be performing a brand-new title at The Regent Theatre. We are looking forward to bringing this fairy tale to life on stage.”
Christian Patterson stars alongside Jonny in the stage partnership that delights Stoke audiences year after year. Trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Christian’s extensive list of stage credits include The Woman in Black, Journey’s End and Matilda.
Cheryl Taylor, Deputy General Manager at the Regent Theatre said: “We are so happy to welcome back Jonny and Christian for this year’s panto, Sleeping Beauty. It will be Jonny’s 14th year and Christians 11th year with us which shows how much Stoke audiences love them.
“It will be a spectacular production with lots of comedy and surprises. It will be a perfect festive treat for all the family.”
