Last year’s New Theatre pantomime Cinderella was such a hit with theatregoers that the stellar cast has been invited back to star in the magical pantomime adventure Aladdin. Making a welcome return this season will be Linda Lusardi, Mike Doyle,
Andy Jones, Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas and Sam Kane. Joining them in the title role of Aladdin will be Welsh pop sensation and musical theatre star Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps!

Heading this talented line-up is Linda Lusardi who will be assisting Aladdin as the Slave of the Ring. With a successful and varied career in film, television and on the stage, Linda has performed in pantomimes across the country. Linda’s many stage roles include Funny Peculiar, Bedside Manner, Not Now Darling, Pygmalion and Rock with Laughter. As well as many summer seasons and performing in every major pantomime around the country, Linda has appeared on countless television programmes including Celebrity Masterchef, Celebrity Come Dine With Me, Dancing On Ice, Loose Women, The Bill, Brookside and in Emmerdale where she played the role of Carrie Nichols.

Ian ‘H’ Watkins upon leaving Steps set about carving out a career in musical theatre and has appeared on the West End stage in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Fame and a tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He has made numerous television appearances including the CBBC show Hider in the House, as a contestant on Bargain Hunt Famous Finds, partnered with Connie Fisher, on The Chase and also had a stint as a gymnast on BBC One’s Tumble.

Aladdin wouldn’t be complete without Widow Twankey and New Theatre audiences can look forward to the return visit of Wales’ own Mike Doyle. Mike is a larger-than-life panto veteran whose showmanship, comic timing and rich singing voice score a hit with audiences every time he steps on stage. Having made his panto debut at the New Theatre last year Gareth Thomas returns to tackle a new challenge and make the wishes of Aladdin and his Princess come true in the role of the Genie of the Lamp. Comedian and funny man Andy Jones takes on the part of Wishee Washee. Andy’s talent and natural comedic timing have seen him become a firm favourite with pantomime audiences over the years.

Panto veteran Sam Kane will play the role of the ultimate pantomime baddie, Abanazar. Sam has been a stalwart of musical theatre for many years. Sam not only plays the role of Abanazar but also directs the production. He has appeared in numerous stage shows including Popstar, the West End production of The Rat Pack, Hot Flush!, Simply Ballroom, Carousel, Boogie Nights and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers to name but a few. On television he is best known for starring in Brookside, and has also appeared in Hollyoaks, The Royal, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
