The Clyde Auditorium is delighted to announce that Glasgow’s own Pop Idol Michelle McManus will be joining David Hasselhoff and The Krankies in the SECC Clyde Auditorium’s forthcoming pantomime spectacular Peter Pan.
Michelle rose to fame having won the second series of Pop Idol and went on to release her single All This Time which debuted at number one in the UK singles chart. Since then the singer has turned actress, columnist, radio DJ and television presenter. Most recently Michelle wrote and performed her one-woman show Reloaded at the Glasgow Comedy Festival which she co-wrote, receiving rave reviews for her music, comedy and storytelling.
Playing the role of Mimi the Magical Mermaid, Michelle will be on hand to help the high-flying hero outwit the dastardly Captain Hook, guide the Lost Boys to safety and ensure the swashbuckling family pantomime goes with a bang.
Michelle said: “I’m so excited to be joining The Hoff and The Krankies in panto this Christmas, and delighted to be appearing at the Clyde Auditorium. To be performing opposite the coolest Captain Hook possible is going to be amazing, not to mention hysterically funny working with Ian and Janette Krankie, I can’t wait!.”
Making a welcome return to Glasgow’s biggest and best pantomime, Peter Pan will also feature the mind-blowing Whizzbang 3D Productions which will take audiences from the comfort of their seats to the depths of the ocean in a spectacular underwater 3D sequence.
Peter Pan runs from 12 December 2015 to 3 January 2016 and will feature the SECC’s trademark blend of spectacular special effects, stunning sets and beautiful costumes. Tickets are already on sale, with early-bird discounts of £5 off top-price tickets available until the end of April.

The SECC and the world’s biggest pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment have today announced that Scottish showbiz legends The Krankies are to return in this year’s Clyde Auditorium pantomime Peter Pan, starring alongside David Hasselhoff, whose casting was announced in December.
Husband and wife duo, Ian and Janette Tough, are known to a generation for their popular 80s children’s TV shows including Crackerjack and The Krankies Klub, as well as for their catchphrase ‘Fan-Dabi-Dozi’! This will be the comedy duo’s sixth pantomime season at the SECC, most recently having appeared as Zip and Baron Hardup in Cinderella, introducing a new generation of fans to the loveable duo.
The pair join the legendary David Hasselhoff, aka “The Hoff”, who is best known for his iconic roles as Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in Baywatch, starring as pantomime’s ultimate baddie, Captain Hook.
Qdos Entertainment’s casting director and executive producer of Peter Pan, Jonathan Kiley said: “We are absolutely delighted that Ian and Janette will be returning to star in our Glasgow show. They are stalwarts of the pantomime tradition, much-loved by audiences wherever they perform and are true Glaswegian panto-performers. The Krankies have a unique style of humour which is going to work terrifically onstage with our dastardly Captain Hook, played by David Hasselhoff”.

Glasgow’s SECC and pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment have today announced a major casting coup in confirming international superstar David Hasselhoff as Captain Hook for next year’s spectacular Clyde Auditorium pantomime, Peter Pan, which went on sale from Saturday 13 December 2014.
David Hasselhoff, aka, “The Hoff”, best known for his iconic roles as Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in Baywatch, will star as pantomime’s ultimate baddie next season.
Says Hasselhoff, “I love Scotland and after a great run in Edinburgh at the Fringe, I’m thrilled to be heading to Glasgow next year with Panto. It has become a terrific excuse to bring the whole family together to enjoy a wonderful and entertaining time at the SECC. I’m honoured to be part of Peter Pan and look forward to getting ‘my hook’ into the Clyde Auditorium next Christmas.”
