Following the announcement earlier this year that Dancing on Ice Judge, and West End theatre sensation Louie Spence and local favourite Kevin Johns will star in this year’s Grand Theatre pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, the Theatre have announced further casting.
Swansea local and Wicked cast member Zoë George will play Princess Apricot. Zoë is no stranger to pantomime having made her professional panto debut alongside Jimmy Osmond in Swansea Grand’s production of Aladdin in 2011. Zoë is currently performing in the national tour of Wicked.
The theatre has also announced that sought-after Swansea-based illusionist and talented stand-up performer Stefan Pejic will bring a little magic to the role of panto villain Fleshcreep.
The cast are also joined by hilarious panto comic Peter Piper as Simple Simon. Peter’s television credits include Hotel Babylon and Holby City, and stage roles have included Gabrielle in the musical Boogie Nights which was critically acclaimed when it premiered in the West End.
Jack and the Beanstalk is produced by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, in partnership with The City and County of Swansea.
Executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk Jonathan Kiley said; “I’m absolutely delighted that Swansea Grand Theatre’s pantomime will bring together such a talented cast, guaranteeing a fantastic Christmas treat for all the family. Work is already underway on a script packed with laugh-out-loud comedy, and creating the biggest beanstalk in Wales!”
Cabinet member for Regeneration, Robert Francis Davies stated, “These are great additions to the already stellar cast. This pantomime is definitely going to be a GIANT of a pantomime. Roll on December!”

Swansea Grand Theatre has announced that its spectacular family pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk will once again star Swansea favourite Kevin Johns as the loveable Dame Trot. This will be Kevin’s 17th pantomime at the Theatre and follow’s the Grand’s announcement that television celebrity, Dancing on Ice Judge, and West End theatre sensation Louie Spence will lead the cast.
As well as his Breakfast programme on Swansea Sound Kevin is one of Wales’ busiest comperes and stage performers. Known as one of the UK’s leading pantomime Dames he has also appeared with The Wales Theatre Company and regularly appears with Fluellen Theatre Company.
When Kevin is not performing he is an active fundraiser for local charities and is Patron for charities including Harry’s Fund and Treat Trust Wales. He is also President of Swansea Male Voice Choir and Rising Stars Theatre Company and a number of other local charities and campaigns. He also follows his beloved Swansea City.
Kevin was honoured to be presented with the MBE by The Queen for services to charity in Wales, and has also been honoured by the South Evening Post Pride Awards and received the Ambassador of Swansea Award and has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Swansea City Awards Dinner.
Jonathan Kiley, Executive Producer of Jack and the Beanstalk said, “We are delighted that Kevin will be returning to the Swansea pantomime this Christmas. His comic talent as Dame is second-to-none and Swansea pantomime simply wouldn’t be the same without him!”

Swansea Grand Theatre has announced that television celebrity, Dancing on Ice Judge, and West End theatre sensation Louie Spence will star as Spirit of the Beans in this year’s magical family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.
An accomplished dancer and actor, Louie became a household name when he appeared on Sky1’s smash-hit series Pineapple Dance Studios. One of the most flamboyant characters ever to grace a documentary series, he won an army of fans, spring-boarding his own series Louie Spence’s Show business, which captivated audiences nationwide.
Louie also appeared on TV as one of the Judges on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, organised a wedding on Celebrity Wedding Planner for Channel 5, worked as the Entertainment Correspondent for ITV’s Daybreak and last year entered the Big Brother House in Celebrity Big Brother. Louie’s international stardom has seen him voted one of the Top Ten Reality Show Judges in America.
Louie’s work as a professional dancer has seen him tour the world with Take That, E17, 2 Unlimited, Boyzone, Eternal, Björk, Kavanagh, Kim Mazelle and Jocelyn Brown, and he was one of only five professional male dancers to accompany the Spice
Girls on their debut Spiceworld tour.
In the West End Louie was part of the original award-winning cast of Miss Saigon, where he helped to create the show’s thrilling acrobatics and went on to perform as Mr Mistoffelees in Cats before joining the Pet Shop Boys musical Closer to Heaven.
Earlier this year Louie took part in the second series of Channel 4’s reality programme The Jump.
